Patricia “Patti” Miller (Burke) of Brighton Heights, formerly of Fineview, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Remembered always as a devoted wife of Brian Miller; proud mother of Brody Miller and Matthew Miller; loving sister of Karen O’Neil (Richard), Lynne Horne, and Beth Bruening (Chris), and survived by her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Patricia (Klosky) Burke. Patti was known to have a contagious laugh and loved playing cards with her family and spending time with her boys.
Patti was an amazing and caring woman. As a nurse of over 40 years and a wife and loving mother, she cherished life and her family.
Patti loved to travel and was on the go often when she was younger, traveling with her nursing friends on her Club Med and Virginia Beach trips. She loved surrounding herself with people she cared about and shared their joy. If you knew Patti, you knew she was meticulous about her dress. From head to “fingernails”. Patti always looked impeccable to the perfectly pressed scrubs that matched her fingernails and lipstick. Later in her career, it was impeccable dress clothes and jewelry. She aways took pride in herself and her family.
Patti met the love of her life, Brian, in 1991 and a new chapter began. She married in 1994 and soon after started her family. She has two wonderful boys, Brody and Matthew, who she would truly walk to the end of earth for. She was always involved in their lives and cherished watching them grow up. She especially enjoyed watching them play football and deck hockey and cheering them on and, oh yes, occasionally correct the call the referee’s made. She supported her boys in their endeavors and if they had a bad day her response was, “Do you want me to email that teacher/boss?….”. That is who she was. Of course, she did not, but she was always ready to go to bat for her boys. This became a family joke with her and her boys. She would also reach to them through texting and if they did not respond in what she felt was a timely manner, they would get the “hello” text. With the relationship they shared, they knew it was time to answer Mum’s text.
Patti was always one who loved children, her own and her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The favorite Aunt of the family. She always had time for them and loved seeing them grow-up and spoil them rotten (as the parents would often say).
She was a very special lady who spoke her mind and loved deeply. Patti was the one that was always there for others for no matter what they needed. She touched many hearts in her short life and will be missed by many.
