Mary A. Messineo, age 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born October 21, 1926, in Oakland, to the late Antonio Salvatore and Gioconda Ricci Salvatore.
She was a graduate of Oakland Catholic High School. She married the late Philip S. Messineo on October 8, 1955. Philip passed in 2003 after 47 years of marriage.
Mary truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family and gardening. She loved supporting all the Pittsburgh sports teams.
She is survived by her sons James, Joseph and Thomas. She is also survived by her sister Margaret(Peggy) Ricchino and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcomed to THE ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME, 1014 California Avenue, Avalon from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. A blessing service will take place on December 2, 2021 at the funeral home chapel at 11:30am with burial to follow at Christ our Redeemer Cemetery.
