John Allen Bender, age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023 in the care of his best friend Jane Lenihan. John was born in Pittsburgh, PA., grew up in Millville PA and was the son of the late John and Irene (Gunnerman) Bender. He was the loving father to Abbie Lenihan and uncle to John Bender and Melissa Bender. He attended Shaler High School and graduated from Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. He retired and enjoyed sailing, he was known as "Captain Jack"
