Ellen McCloskey

The Lord opened up his arms to welcome Ellen (Wikert) McCloskey, age 90, on June 11, 2023 in San Antonio Texas. Ellen was born in Millvale PA., she was the daughter to the late Frank Wilbert and Cecilia Anna (Neurohr) Wikert. A graduate of Mount Alvernia High School and Slippery Rock University where she earned a Bachelor's of Education Degree in 1954. She married her loving husband the late William G. McCloskey Sr. on July 31, 1954 until his death on June 29, 1996. Together they raised 9 children; late Maureen Ann, Cecile E (Phae) Cutchall, William G (Janet) McCloskey Jr., Carolyn J. (Roy) Garza, Robert L. (Natalie) McCloskey, Michael G. (Susan) McCloskey, Patrick J. (Ashley) McCloskey, Margaret M. (Edward) Carnahan, and Joseph Mark (Victoria) McCloskey.

Ellen was the example of integrity, grace and kindness. Her legacy will live through her loving 38 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home 1032 Perry Hwy Pittsburgh PA 15237 on Tuesday June 20, 2023 from 2PM to 8PM. A celebration of Ellen's life will take place at 7PM please bring your stories.

A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday at 10AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Edward Carnahan officiating.
