Elise B. Theriot

PIERRE PART-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Elise Breaux Theriot on Monday, September 14, 2015, 11:00 am, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with burial following at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Ourso Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Monday morning starting at 8:30 am continuing until Mass time. Mrs. Theriot, lifelong resident of Pierre Part, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 surrounded by her children. She was 99. Mrs. Theriot was a devoted stay-at-home mom. She was well known for her nurturing nature. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was a hard worker who never imposed on anyone. She was very religious and prayed the rosary faithfully. Mrs. Theriot enjoyed gardening, raising chickens and quilting. She loved to visit and was well known for her good conversation. She was particularly famous for her peanut butter-chocolate and oatmeal cookies. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Theriot is survived by her 7 children, Dorothy T. Templet, Lorraine T. Poirrier and husband Lester, Shirley T. Woodruff, Roland Theriot, Burton Theriot and wife Geraldine, Georgana Templet and husband Kenneth, Beverly Landry and husband Daril; sister, Alta B. Aucoin; brother, Harry Breaux; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonie J. Theriot, Jr.; parents, Sidney and Albertine M. Breaux; 15 siblings; grandsons, Chris Templet and Neil Templet; sons-in-law, Oleus Templet, Jr., Roland Woodruff and daughter-in-law, Vickie Dugas Theriot.
