Cynthya Amezcua, 51, passed away February, 15, 2020. She was a longtime resident of Pico Rivera, California and a member of St Mariana de Paredes Catholic Church. Cynthya was an incredible daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She was a well respected and beloved school teacher in the Southern California area for 15 years. Mrs. Amezcua is preceded in death by her father Jesus Reyes, and her brothers Jose and Antonio Reyes, her great- grandmother Selerina Betancourt, and her aunt Norma Parga. She is survived by her husband Jesus Amezcua, five children Jessica Amezcua, Jesus Amezcua Jr., Abel Amezcua, Evette Amezcua, Mathew Amezcua, five grandchildren with two on the way, her grandmother Estefana Parga, her mother Maria Reyes, her sister Dr. Elizabeth Sammond, her brother LTC Jose-Antonio Reyes, her uncle Jose Parga, her aunt Irma Alvarez along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2020, at Funeraria Del Angel Pico Rivera from 5pm-8pm. Vigil service will also be held Friday, February 28, 2020 at Funeraria Del Angel Pico Rivera. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Saint Marianne de Paredes Church at 9:30am. Internment will be at All Souls Cemetery, located at 4400 Cherry Ave, Long Beach, CA 90807 following Funeral Mass.
