Mrs. Masters was born in Pickens County, the last surviving child of Arvel H. (Mose) and Esther Hendricks King. She was a graduate of Easley High School, Class of 1943, and worked most of her life in the textile industry. She was a member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church for a number of years but had most recently been a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Her main enjoyments were going out to eat at Joe's, going to Dollywood, or to a Karen Peck and New River Concert.
Mrs. Masters is survived by her children: Arvel W. Masters (Amy), David H. Masters (Jeffrey), and Lougenia E. Masters; her grandchildren whom she adored: Aline Masters, Sarah Mansbach (Andrew), Jared Masters, and Jonathan Masters; and her only great-grandson: Luke Mansbach.
Mrs. Masters was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers: A. Kendall King and Ray King; and two sisters: Mabel King and Virginia Breazeale.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 4, 2023 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, following the service, at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM on Saturday, prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
