Doc was born in Pickens to the late Eddy Galloway Durham and Hermit Durham. A member of Landmark Baptist Church, he retired from Oconee Nuclear Station after 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, deer hunting and fishing. He had a strong work ethic and value of family, which is something he instilled into his children.
Doc is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Linda Davidson Durham; son Greg Durham (Dawn); daughter Geri Mann (David); grandchildren Brad Durham, Tyler Lawson (Courtney), Dawson Mann, and Sawyer Mann; great-grandchildren Aubree, Rhett, Brinleigh, and Asher.
Doc was the last surviving member of his immediate family, preceded in death by his parents; brothers Junior, Bill, Rufus, Joe, Clyde; sisters Romain Chappell; Mary Lou Dillard; Mildred Durham; and one grandson Victor Kyle Lawson.
A visitation for Doc will be held Monday, September 16, 2024, from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina 29671. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Chapel at Dillard Funeral Home officiated by Gary Edwards and Stuart Houston. Doc will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
