Edith O Stillwell

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Stillwell was born in the Tuckasegee Valley of North Carolina on September 16, 1932 to the late Lon Alvin and Minnie Pruitt Parker. Her compassion towards others and her love of caring for people was shown throughout her whole life, and she received a full academic scholarship to Emory University in the early 1950's where she received her nursing degree. From there, she went on to obtain her Master's degree from the Medical College of Georgia, then her PHD from the University of Georgia.

Mrs. Stillwell is survived by her son: Charles Alan Stillwell, Jr. of Pickens; four grandchildren: Charles A. Stillwell, III, Mary Beth Stillwell, Allison Ringer, and Rachel Attaway; three great-grandchildren: Karen Ringer, Charles Ringer, and Mack Ringer; and a dear friend: Gladys Mills of Sylva, NC.

In addition to her loving husband of 70 years and her parents, Mrs. Stillwell was preceded in death by a daughter: Karen Stillwell Cone; and seven siblings.

Private graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
