Wayne Andrew Karunas, age 68, of Phoenix, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017. He was born on September 16, 1949 to the late Barney and Eleanor (Ambrose) Karunas in Detroit, Michigan. Wayne proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He attended Calvary Chapel North Phoenix and was very active in the church. He enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. Wayne is survived by his loving spouse of 28 years, Betty; a daughter, Debbie Frantz; two sisters, April and Beverly; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
