Wayne W. Chaney, age 87, of Phoenix, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at his residence. He was born on August 7, 1931 to the late Walter Leslie and Wilhelmina (Lambert) Chaney in Newton, KS. Wayne attended Phoenix College and then Arizona State University graduating class of 1955 obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science degree with distinction in Architecture/Design. After college he joined the architect firm of Al Beadle where he worked for many years until he left to continue interior design first with a partner and then on his own. He was a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). Wayne supplemented his income by selling some of his paintings. He was well known for his work in contemporary abstract art. Wayne is survived by his loving sister, Jean Hall; nephew, Mike W. Hall and wife Trinka of Prescott, AZ; nephew, James William Hall and wife Patricia of Tucson, AZ; and his niece, Nancy Jean Hall of Encinitas, CA. Wayne is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews; plus two great, great nephews. No services planned at this time; a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
