Virginia A. Rios, passed away on November 18, 2020. Born on May 7, 1934 in Phoenix, AZ. daughter of Isable and Nicholas Rios. Preceded in death by her father, Nicholas Rios, and mother Isabel Martinez and step father Carmen B. Martinez, her sister Carmen M. Franco, and her niece Dolores M. Ross. She is survived by her bothers Nicholas A. Rios, Andres A. Rios (Dilia), Robert A. Martinez (Frances), and sister Barbara M. Maldonado (Alfred). She is also survived by her uncle Thomas Almanza and her aunt Minerva Almanza. Virginia grew up in Phoenix, graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1951. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Nursing School in 1953 With a Nursing degree. She move to California to work at Mountain View Hospital and then moved to Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California. She returned to Phoenix in 1976 to care for her parents. She worked at John C. Lincoln Hospital and Baptist Hospital until she retired in 1999. She loved to travel with her friends and she was able to visit Russia, Portugal, Mexico, Norway, Denmark, Germany, China, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. She was also active in the YWCA, attended church at St. Gregory’s and volunteered at the Orpheum Theater of Phoenix.
