Sharon was the devoted wife of Julio Nieves, who was by her side when she peacefully passed.
They were happily married for 42 years.
Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Fields.
She had graduated from Arizona State University with a Masters in Managed Care and received certification from the American Board of Managed Care Providers.
Upon graduation from ASU, Sharon worked as a counselor at the Meadows Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Wickenburg, Arizona.
Sharon later worked as a counselor for Motorola's Employee Assistance Program in Phoenix.
After Sharon and Julio were married in Phoenix, they moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. In New Orleans, Sharon oversaw the Employee Assistance Program for Martin Marietta. She also attended Tulane University where she received advanced Board Certifications for Social Work.
She belonged to Special Military Active and Retired Travelers (SMART). With SMART, she enjoyed spending time with Julio traveling the country fishing, camping and exploring the great outdoors. Sharon was an arts and craft aficionado and was passionate about spending time with her family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her Husband Julio Nieves, Sons Dr. Edwin Herron, Andrew Herron and Michael Herron. She is also survived by her Grandchildren; Calee, David, Sophia, Lilly, and James. She is also survived by two Great-Grandchildren, Madison and Eden.
She also leaves behind her two precious Yorkies, Molly and Lucy.
