Seth was born in Phoenix, Arizona on April 29, 1972 to Daniel G. and Terry S. Macdonald. Being the only boy, he was the protector of his 5 sisters. He attended Phoenix schools where he, as a natural born athlete, was involved in scouting, soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. He received his Eagle Scout award and also attended Boy’s State. He graduated from Trevor Browne High School in 1990 and later attended Brigham Young University.
After one year of college, he served a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Leeds, England. After his mission, he returned to BYU, where he met Melinda Deters. They quickly fell in love and were married on May 12, 1995 in the Denver Colorado Temple. Seth later graduated from BYU with a degree in Construction Management in 1999.
Future jobs took them to Colorado, Texas, Minnesota, Georgia, and finally Tennessee. During this time, Seth’s greatest blessings joined their family: Jessica, Zachary, Kyle, and Elizabeth. He loved his children and was so proud of them and their accomplishments. Over the years, they made many wonderful memories together. Luke, the family dog, later joined them in 2017.
Seth was a lover of many things, including cooking, woodworking, laughing with his kids, taking the boat out on the lake, adventuring in his jeep, and helping others. He loved to grill and smoke meat. Ribs, brisket, and tomahawk steaks were his favorites! He fell in love with his jeep and they went on many adventures together. Some of those adventures included being of service to others. He volunteered several times in Louisiana after storms and hurricanes. Seth was generous with his time and talents, and he never missed the opportunity to joke and make others laugh.
Seth worked for TurbinePros as a Scheduler, Project Manager, and Master Estimator. He was going to complete his 10-year anniversary at TurbinePros this January. He is greatly missed by his coworkers who considered him an integral member of the company family.
He is survived by his children Jessica (Cory) Glow, Zachary (Mile), Kyle, and Elizabeth; his parents, Daniel and Terry; his five sisters, Shelley Wilkes (Darren), Sarah Cook (David), Amy Phippen (Darin), Jill Mitchell, and Emily Baker (Andrew); and many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
His celebration of life will be on November 19th at the Sun City Ward Building, 13014 W. 108th Ave, Sun City, Arizona at 10:00 am. A viewing will be held prior from 9:00 to 9:45 am. He will be buried in the Mesa City Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to the Humanitarian Aid Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
