She was an extremely independent, vibrant, social, and beautiful person. She retired after 35+ years of service working for the federal government as an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) investigator. She was the mother figure to her 15 younger siblings. She will be missed greatly as she was a friend, mentor, counselor, cheerleader, caregiver, and all-around go to person to so many. She loved to dance, cheer for the Arizona sports teams (former ticket holder to the Cardinals and Diamondbacks), go to the casino, and volunteer for worthy causes.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Kelly) Aragon and Eliza Aragon (Jim) Smaltz, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren,
7 brothers, 5 sisters, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11:00 am at Christ’s Church of the Valley, 4343 W. Baseline Road, Laveen, AZ 85339.
