Rogena (Gena) started her journey at Percy L Julian grade school and graduated from Phoenix Union High School. Soon after graduation, and being wed (February 15,1968), she started working at Motorola Inc. and retired from Motorola in 1990 (22 years). She was too young to retire, so she took a well-earned break until 1997 when she began at Intel until May of 2009, where she officially retired to care for her grandchildren.
Rogena was a beautiful soul that radiated kindness, spoke with a loving tone, led each day with a generous heart, and embraced everyone with a bright smile. Every family gathering, she made sure the kids were always taken care of. Each year she looked forward to helping her little sister, Tina with the kids' Christmas Party because witnessing all the kids happy made her happy. She was always there for you and loved unconditionally, helping her kids and grandchildren. Her favorite statements, "treat people the way you want to be treated" and "don't worry about what others think of you."
Those left awaiting the great reunion with Rogena: Her husband of 54 years, Arthur Wilson, her children Eric Wilson, Kimberly Wilson (Tres), Marcus Wilson (Lorenia), her mother Verna Owens, sister Tina Dale, her brothers Steve Owens (Jacque), and David Wilson. Her Grandchildren: Kendal Wilson, Mya Smith, Amani Gillespie, Olivia Wilson, Evalyn Wilson, Alia Adam-Pitts, Adrienne Adam. Host of Aunts, Uncle and nieces, nephews and cousins, and a host of friends. Rogena will be joining her late sisters, Debra Green and Maryetta Owens.
Life is like a beautiful flower: To Know Gena is to love her. John 14:27 Peace I leave with you: my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be trouble, neither let them be afraid.
