Richard Dean Crockett

He was born on a farm outside of Adrian, Missouri on January 12th, 1934. As a young child, Richard’s family left Missouri for the west. Richard’s family moved to New Mexico, California, and Arizona following his father’s career with Santa Fe Railroad, finally settling in Williams, where Richard attended grammar, middle school and graduated high school. Richard entered the Army in 1955. In 1958 Richard married Glenellen Rupe, move to California to pursue a career in telecommunications, and had 5 children.

Richard worked in telecommunications for over 30 years for Santa Fe Railroad, California Water and Telephone, and General Telephone & Electronics (GTE).

In retirement, Richard became a member of Yucaipa Valley Gem and Mineral Society and San Bernardino County Coin Club and had a passion for rock lapidary work and coin collecting. He was also a member of the local gun club and enjoyed target shooting.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Ora Virgil Crockett, and Alice Almeda Crockett; his siblings, Virginia "Ginny" Rankhorn, Ora Virgil Crockett Jr., Joseph C. Crockett, and Alene Perchal; and his grandchild, Jeremy Logue.

He is survived by his children, Lori Crockett, Rhonda (Terry) Crockett-Logue, Dana (Dan) Hockett, Marcilyn Crockett, and Richard (Jeaninne) Crockett II; grandchildren, Joshua Sorensen, Michael (Carley) Logue, Ellen Del Aguila, Nicholas (Cristy) Logue, Hayden Prudhomme, Emilia Crockett, Sara Crockett, Megan Logue, Rachel Logue, and Chloe Crockett; great grandchildren, Lily Sorensen, Adaline Logue, and Myla Logue. As well as his sisters, Barbara Stout, Mary Burks, and Susie Mercer.

A funeral service for Richard will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 10:00 AM at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuaries Bethany Chapel, 710 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at 12:00 PM at Sunwest Cemetery, 12525 NW Grand Ave, El Mirage, AZ 85335.
