Reva Nora Rogers, 91, died Wednesday, September 2, 2015, in Chandler, Arizona, surrounded with her family. Reva was born October 30, 1923 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Reva met the love of her life after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Her husband-to-be, Buck Rogers, was on leave after his ship (USS Raleigh) was bombed. They met on a train out of Chicago. Reva was on her way to Virginia to visit her sister and Buck was on his way to Virginia to visit his mother. During the next couple weeks, they decided to get married. Their marriage lasted 71 years until Buck passed away two years ago. They spent 20 years traveling with the Navy. Buck ended his Navy career as a Navy Recruiter in Boise, Idaho near Reva’s relatives. Reva enjoyed her years in Boise as a homemaker with lots of crocheting, knitting, sewing, making quilts and being involved with a bowling league. After Buck retired, they moved to Chandler, Arizona with their daughter and granddaughter to be near their son and his family. Reva and Buck enjoyed seeing their grandchildren and great grandchild grow up. Those were wonderful years! Reva is survived by her daughter, Donna Matz of Chandler, Arizona; son, John Rogers (Dee) of Tempe, Arizona; grandchildren, Chris Matz of Chandler, Arizona, Kate Rogers of Cleveland, Ohio, Paul Rogers of Tempe, Arizona; great-granddaughter, Kyleigh Matz of Chandler, Arizona; niece, Leona Nelson (Terry) of Boise, Idaho; nephew, Art Dodson of Boise Idaho, and many dear cousins.
