Raymond "Mundo" Arvizu passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 in Phoenix surrounded by his loving family. Mundo was preceded in death by his parents Raymond & Maria Arvizu and loving wife of 49 years, Isabel Gonzales Arvizu. They are now dancing in heaven together.
Mundo was born on May 31, 1936 in Phoenix and grew up in the Golden Gate Barrio. Along with his father and brothers, Abraham and Alex they help build Sacred Heart Church. It is now an historic icon for many members of the community. He also served in the Arizona National Guard. He became an electrician in 1957 and member of IBEW Local 640 for 60 years. He was the General Foreman on many of the Valleys major projects such as Phoenix's first mayor high rise, Valley National Bank now Chase Bank & Phoenix Baptist Church. He worked for Corbin-Dykes Electric and retired from McDonald Douglas Helicopters. He was mentor, advisor, and ambassador for Arvizu Advertising the past 26 years.
He had a strong passion/love for family, dancing, and basketball. Mundo is survived by loving son Ray Arvizu (Ernestina), daughter Rachel Peralta, grandsons, Ray Jr. (April), Andres (Sabrina), Daniel (Karina) and Robert Arvizu, Anthony Peralta Jr., Great Grandsons Raymundo Drakes & Daniel Zavier Arvizu, Great Granddaughters Isabel Elise & Mia Isabella Arvizu.
Arrangements entrusted to Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens. Services will be held Monday, December 11th at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 1800 E Libra Dr, Tempe. Viewing will be at 10:00am, Mass at 11:00am, followed by Interment at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 E Southern Ave, Phoenix.
