Born on May 6th, 1953, to Ursino A. Ruiz and Eloisa Ruiz (Gaytan). Oscar graduated from McClintock High School in Tempe, Arizona in 1973. He spent the majority of his career in retail shipping and receiving, with a long and dedicated tenure at the Goldwaters Department Store in Phoenix.
Oscar’s life was filled with music. He had a deep appreciation for popular music from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as a connection to the rich sounds of his Mexican heritage. But above all, Oscar cherished his family and friends. He was a constant source of love, support, and admiration for those around him.
Oscar is survived by his sons, Adam Ruiz and Christopher Ruiz of Chandler, Arizona; granddaughters, Evangeline Ruiz and Sophie Ruiz; and sisters, Maria Espindola, Elva Buckles, and Tillie Orona. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Artemisa Nunez, and his brothers Enrique Urquidez and Jesus Romero.
Oscar's kindness, warmth, and love for life will be a lasting memory for all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Oscar will be laid to rest with his mother and brother Jesus, adjacent to his sister, on the grounds of Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery, 719 North 27th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85009
