Maria Montalvo

Maria Montalvo was a single mother of 7 children who enjoyed expressing her love by cooking her amazing food for everyone which include “Gorditas, Tamales, Chile Rellenos, Pozole, Menudo, Enchiladas & Pollo con chile“. She loved having family gatherings with all “30” grandchildren. The kids loved going to Nana’s house because she would always have food ready & had a big backyard for the kids to play in. She always loved making special treats for the kids & remembered everyone’s Birthday. Maria loved going to Sedona to see the beautiful red mountains with family, if she wasn’t travelling, she would love going to the Casino by the slot machines, her lucky number was “8“. Maria loved to go to work & loved telling everyone how many friends she had.

She is survived by her children, William I. Castillo, Eric A. Castillo, Liz M. Castillo, Lee M. Castillo, Eduardo E. Montalvo, Lizzete I. Montalvo, Yambe I. Montalvo and Rosie Castillo.

Visitation will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday November 6, 2022 at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85027. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM November 7, 2022 at the Funeral Home, with Committal Services to follow at 11:00 AM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary.

'When I am gone, release me, let me go. You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears, Just be happy we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I traveled alone. So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. I won’t be far away, for life goes on, so if you need me, call & I will come. Though you can’t see or touch, I’ll be near. And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear, all of my love around you, soft & clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile & say “Welcome Home”.'
