Maggie Donegan

The celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27 at Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church at 601 S. Cooper Road, Gilbert, Arizona. Jerry Clark and Jack Moraine will be officiating. Following the services, there will be a light lunch for family and friends. After the luncheon, family and friends who are able will meet at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery at 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, Arizona 85009.

Maggie was the second-generation Phoenix native, born February 7, 1929. She graduated from Phoenix Union High School where she and her family lived across the street for all of her childhood life at 739 E. Polk Street. Maggie took various classes at Phoenix Community College.

Maggie was married to and preceded in death by her one and only love, Robert Johnson Patton. She was a housewife and mother and cherished putting her family first as she filled her days with caring for them. Later in life she worked as a caregiver, taking care of elderly people who needed meals and companionship. Maggie enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, history and doing whatever she could to bless others. She loved Jesus and exemplified his love for others in many ways such as cooking for others, giving her things away to those that needed them and always praying for those who needed support. Maggie was funny and full of wit, always the life of any gathering! Her Irish charm and looks along with her beautiful gift of singing provided her with friends and admirers wherever she went.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Welcome Donegan, brothers Robert and Richard Donegan, and her eldest son Robert James Patton. She left behind her brothers John and Jim Donegan, as well as her children, Kathleen Ann Patton, Michael John Patton, and Lauretta Elizabeth Clark (Jerry), her grandchildren, Jeremiah Patton (Deb), Jason Patton (Audra), Jamie McClamb (Oscar), Jascha Patton (Krista), Andrea Schaffer (Shane), Kelly Stetzelberger (Paul), Heather Peterson (Robert) and Andrew Patton (Andrea) as well as her 20 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends (one known as far back as preschool-Eddie Ruth Lundeen.

The family of Maggie Donegan wishes to thank Nora for all her love in caring for Maggie over the past few years as well as Dr. Vines, Dr. Kunelis, Arbor Rose Adult Day Care and Grace Hospice for their love and care for Maggie and kindness and support for her family.
