Laura Anne Phillips, 63, of Phoenix AZ, passed away September 11, 2015. She was born in New Haven, CT, on December 7, 1951. Laura graduated from St. Raphael's Hospital School on Nursing in 1975 and received a BA at ASU in 1983. She was married to Stuart Phillips, MD, on July 9, 1978. Laura had a career in nursing, nurse anesthesia, and nursing administration at St. Raphael's Hosp. (New Haven), Good Samaritan Hosp. (Phoenix), and Manor Care Nursing Homes (Arlington, VA). She was a member of the Conn. Nursing Assoc. and the AZ Nursing Assoc. and had passion for tennis, journaling, writing, and reading. She was a past women's singles champion at the Village Tennis Club and had a USTA ranking of 3rd in the Southwest. She also was an active volunteer and involved with the charity group Jewish Family and Children's Services as well as fundraising for Maricopa County Medical Society Auxiliary. Laura was preceded in death by her identical twin sister Mary Milardo and brother Jack Illingworth. She is survived by her husband Dr. Stuart Phillips, daughter Rebecca Harper, grandsons Aaron and Ari Harper, and siblings Judy Germinaro, Cynthia Meehan, Harriet O'Connor, Joyce O'Neill, Susan Labry, and Frank Illingworth.
