On April 4, 1974 in Fort Worth, Texas she married Donny Bryant. They had one son, Andrew Nolan Bryant. She was a 1967 graduate of Lansing High School, in upstate New York, a 1971 graduate of Houghton College, also in upstate New York, and a 1976 Graduate of Southwestern Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. She was an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and served churches in Missouri, Arizona, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma for over 35 years. She was trained as a vocalist and early in her career she taught art in schools. Her love of the arts led her to do extensive training in the use of Arts in Spirituality, which she used well in helping churches develop a vision for their ministry as well as in promoting spiritual development. Her hobbies included many arts and crafts, as well as travel. One of the great joys of her life was the hosting of three exchange daughters, Tina Klug and Melina Feilen from Germany and Lara Francischetto from Brazil.
She is survived by her husband Don and son Andy, of Phoenix, AZ; a sister Rose Mary Volbrecht and her spouse Kathie Yerion of Spokane WA; a very dear friend Cherith Keaton and her spouse John of Geneva, NY; and three nieces, Nichoal Parkin of Cocoa, FL, Amber Marshal of Lansing, NY, and Erin Greczyn of Nedrow, NY; and many friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Rodney and Gary Volbrecht.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 3, 2022, at 1:30 pm at Foothills Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foothills Christian Church, 3951 W. Happy Valley Rd., Glendale, AZ 85310 or to the charity of your choice.
