Joe had a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed sharing his hunting and fishing trips with his family. Joe demonstrated his love of baseball when he was a catcher on the Varsity team at Phoenix Union, Joe was a Yankees fan but then made a coastal change to the San Francisco Giants. He enjoyed watching football uninterrupted with the ‘Chicano’ Bears (as Joe called them) as his favorite team.
Joe liked music which was evident with the beautiful way he played the guitar. Joe was proud of his 8 years of service as a firefighter in the Air National Guard. Joe was a carpenter by trade. Had it not been for Joe and his brother, Arthur, his in-laws, Sam and Mary would not have had the cabin of their dreams. Joe also
worked at the Palo Verde Generating Plant then joined SRP and IBEW for 35 years. Joe was always ready to help family and friends, from homework to working on their vehicles.
His deep and great love for his wife, Cristina showed in the ways he spoke of her. Joe had his own ‘special’ way of expressing himself with his family. Spending time with his children and grandchildren brought smiles, tears and laughter. He shared his love of the Lord and the Virgen de Guadalupe with them.
Joe leaves his family and friends with many great memories and stories to share.
Joe will be missed but he will be forever in our hearts.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.resthavencarrtenney.com for the Munoz family.
