Jesus was born the elder of twin boys on March 3, 1939 in the city of Piedras Negras in Coahuila, Mexico to Aurelio Betancourt and Catalina Fuentes Betancourt. He began working at a young age as a handy man putting to use his God given gift to work with his hands. There was nothing he couldn’t build or repair. He married Esther Monroy the love of his life as a young man. Early in life after moving to America in his 20s he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. Jesus came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ being baptized in Jesus name in 1972 and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Shortly after this he began to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ with great knowledge and power. Pastor Betancourt through his passion led many people to Christ, personally baptizing numerous families and individuals in Jesus Name. Pastor Betancourt was also known by his fellow ministers as a Man of God who could be called upon at any moment to provide wisdom and Godly guidance on the scriptures. He set the example for his family and friends of an uncompromising servant of God. One of his cherished accomplishments was when he obtained his U.S. citizenship in 1995.
Pastor Betancourt was an accomplished musician and singer and often played guitar for the church during services, conferences and conventions or just to show his children how to worship God. Pastor Betancourt was also a gifted artist who enjoyed painting with a traditional Mexican flair. He was a devoted husband and father who was always willing to help anyone in need. He was passionate about preaching the Word of God to all he met.
