Irene Sneed

Irene Sneed was the youngest of nine children born to Lucile and Dave Jr. Bailey on February 12, 1934 in Lubbock, TX. Irene’s siblings, Marie Bailey, Sarah Mitchell, Catherine Thomas, Dave Bailey III, and Eugene Bailey, all preceded her in death. Irene attended and graduated from Dunbar High School. In 1950 Irene met Willie Lee Sneed Sr., and on May 9, 1952, they were joined together in Holy Matrimony. To this union nine children were born. Her beloved husband Willie Lee Sneed Sr., together with Ivy Dorinda Sneed, Don Sneed, preceded her in death. While still residing in Lubbock, Irene went on to further her education by attending beauty school, and became a beautician. Irene and her family later moved to Phoenix, AZ., where she continued to be a beautician while she yet seek to further her education and add another trade to her life. She studied to become a nurse’s aide and was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 12 years, and Maricopa County Burn Unit for five years until she retired. Irene Sneed was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and was led to Greater Pentecostal Temple Church. She finally made the Temple of Greater Bethel her home church, before passing.

Irene lived a joyous life around friends and family. Special thanks to Maria Castella for always being there for Irene even after her passing. Irene leaves to cherish her loving memories her seven remaining children, Sam Sneed, Kathy Robinson, Timothy Sneed, Gale Sneed, Candi Bailey (Lillian Sneed), Howard Sneed, and Vincent Sneed; two sister in laws Shirley A Simmons and Laura Davis; 19 grandchildren Antoinette Mason, Tyrone Sneed, Marvin Young, Stevie Sneed, John Robinson, Evie Sipe, Israel O’Bannon, Rodney Gordon, Omarrow Belnavis, Tyla Threadgill , DeAndre Sneed, Twashunda Robinson, La’Rena Robinson, LaTosha Jones, La’Toya Robinson, Hakeem Sneed, and Sade Sneed, and 36 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. We all loved her but God Loved her best.
