Gregory Lee Haygood was born in Phoenix, AZ to Elnora (Haygood) Mims and R. L. Jordan on August 20, 1960. Greg was preceded in death by his brothers Danny Ray Haygood of Phoenix, AZ and Cecil Donnell Jordan of Tucson, AZ. He leaves behind Mother Elnora Mims, Father R.L.Jordan, Stepmother Marjorie Jordan, sisters Eloise Jones, Venetta Haygood, and Vera Mims, also stepsister Beverly Jordan Gilbert, and stepbrother Dennis Lee Jordan. He had numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was an alum of South Mountain High School in 1978. He was a skilled electronics technician working for companies such as Motorola, eInstruction, and Taser for nearly three decades.
He also leaves behind sons Shani (TaTa) Daughtry, Jamarr Francis, and Jermaine Haygood, and a daughter Geniece McNeal; grandsons Syncere Daughtry and Jayden McNeal.
His children remember him as a kind, generous, and loving father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and always honor family. His parents remember him as the son who loved and cherished his mother; love and respected his father. His siblings remember him as one of the best big brother’s you could ever hope for in a lifetime. He was a joyful and dedicated individual who loved being with family and friends and who was passionate about grilling, chilling, and enjoying the shade of a good tree. Driven by is enjoyment of the company of family and friends, he never missed an opportunity to create a get-together for both. Gatherings full of fun, laughter, food, drink, reminiscing, and LOVE.
He was loved everyone he met. He will be missed by us all. But he will never be far from our hearts.
