Phoenix, AZ – Frank J. Paterno, 81, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia Paterno; his sons, Thomas, Frank V, Michael, and his daughter Renee; Son-In-law Bryan , Daughter In-law Amy; grandchildren; Ashlee, Kristi, Tyler, Tanner, Maquel, and Kaden. There are so many ways to describe Frank, dad, papa, and friend. He made such an impression on everyone he met and these are the words people have used to describe him: amazing, lovable, joyful, unique, bold, outspoken, outrageous, loud, hysterical, entertaining, attachable, relational, caring, strong willed, special, witty and principled. He was passionate about everything he did in life, inspiring to the people around him, a hardworking man, and fully committed to his family and his country. His grandkids saw him as their biggest fan when it came to sports, he made it to every game and cheered loudly the whole time. They could always count on seeing him sitting in his chair on the sideline or in the bleachers and hearing his voice above everyone else. He constantly bragged about his grandkids which showed how proud he was. He was a source of encouragement for his family, a constant support system, and everyone’s biggest fan. He made his presence known wherever he went, sparked laughter with his ridiculous, witty jokes, and displayed a selfless lifestyle. He had this way of connecting with everyone he met and this ability to make them feel loved and special. A lot of people strive to be like this, but for him it came natural. Even on his last day on earth, he still maintained his sense of humor and his strong character. But what he is most remembered for is his unconditional love for his family. He put his heart and soul into every one of us and made family his priority. He has left an unforgettable mark on our lives and sparked a desire and will to continue to live and love the way he did. Our hearts are broken and we miss him dearly, but we rejoice knowing the legacy he left behind.
Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
