Fay M. Wong went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 28, 2022. He was born in Boston on August 18, 1924. He lived a full life filled with laughter and love. When he was a young child his family returned to China. When he was a teenager he returned to the USA. During WWII, he served in Europe with the US Army with the rank of Tech Sargent. In 1947 he married his wife Mary. Together they raised four children. Marion (JC) Brown, Eddy (Mai-Lon) Wong, Nancy (Greg) Emoto and Terry (Hae Ja) Wong. Together with his wife they owned and operated Mayfair Market in Glendale until they retired to help take care of nine grandchildren and eventually seventeen great-grandchildren. He loved bass fishing, playing poker with his friends, cooking and playing with his grandchildren. He also loved telling his family stories about his army adventures and growing up in China. His family remembers him as a kind, generous and humble man, who took care of his family, friends and customers at the grocery store. He had a sense of humor that kept everyone laughing. As a faithful Christian, he was a member of Northwest Chinese Baptist Church and First Chinese Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to these two churches.
A visitation will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 9:00 AM and the funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM. Both will be held at Serenity Chapel, Greenwood/Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 North 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009.
