Dick Pete Zaferatos, age 92, of Phoenix, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018. He was born on July 7, 1926 to the late Dennis and Virginia Zaferatos in Cleveland, OH. Pete owned an aerospace welding company for over 42 years in Eastlake, OH. On October 6, 1951 he married Dolores Nero in St. Agatha Catholic Church in Cleveland, OH. He enjoyed weight lifting, gymnastics, and body building. Pete is survived by his loving spouse of 67 years, Dolores; two children, Denise (Gary) Cooper and Pete (Margie) Zaferatos; his brother, Jerry Zaferatos of Cleveland, OH; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his four siblings, Liberty Dalakas, and Irene, George, and Sam Zaferatos. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022 with the Funeral services to follow at 11:00 am. Committal service with Military Honors will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
