Born on May 30, 1955, in Alexandria, Virginia, Chuck's early years were rooted in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He pursued education with passion and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1979.
He used his education in the realm of construction project management and Chuck shone brightly. From projects like the Eisenhower Medical Center expansion to the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, he demonstrated his exceptional skills. Chuck's dedication earned him the title of Construction Project Manager of the Year for two consecutive years. But beyond accolades, his favorite project was closer to his heart—a dream home for his family in Camas, Washington. The "Camas house" became a haven of love, where cherished memories of gardening, family gatherings, and shared meals were crafted.
Chuck's service extended beyond the walls of his home. He was a pillar of his community, serving with the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Camas, Washington. His spirit of giving and devotion to others highlighted the core of his character.
In a defining moment, Chuck heeded a new calling. At the age of 55, he embarked on a brave journey, transitioning from construction to healthcare. With unwavering courage, he returned to nursing school and emerged as a Registered Nurse in 2012. His dedication to healthcare became a source of inspiration for many, as he became a beloved and relied-upon member of the staff on the Telemetry unit at Banner and Honor Health.
Chuck's legacy is one of love and family. He shared 39 incredible years of marriage with his devoted wife, Susan, and was a loving father to Jeff Larsen and Kristen McElliott. He took immense pride in his beautiful grandchildren, Rylee Kathleen and Ava Joy. As a son, a brother, devout husband and a friend, he radiated a warmth that touched all who had the privilege of knowing him.
