Carl started out building houses in Waterford, PA. He later went on to become a Pressman at the Erie Times News in Erie, PA. He then moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1976 to work at the Arizona Republic until he retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his 3 sons, Jeff (Victoria) of Phoenix, AZ, Terrence (Suzan) of Anderson, SC, and Charles (Brenda) of Happy Jack, AZ; four stepdaughters Sharon Citrone and Jaynee Burawa of Phoenix, AZ, Carol Foster of Flagstaff, AZ, and Brenda (Mike) Massimo of Prescott, AZ. He was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He lived a full life.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Louise (Falconer), second wife Nancy Lou (Laycock); brothers Jack and Ted; 6 sisters Thora, Ruth, June, Caroline, Helen, Jenny; and great-grandson Benjamin Donahue.
