Blanche Evangelist Thompson 93 of Phoenix, was born on June 12, 1917 in Louisiana's, Lincoln Parish. She was transitioned at the call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from time into eternity on May 31, 2011. The daughter of the late Oliver and Stella Daniels. She matriculated in the Louisiana and Oklahoma Public School System. In 1939, she was joined in marriage to the late Professor Henry A. Champion, Sr. To this union, six children were born. The eldest son, Henry A. Champion, Jr. preceded her in death. After the demise of Professor Champion, she married Hersey Thompson (who also preceded her in death.) Through the years, she was assured that Jesus Christ would take care of her, always saying, "I'm going to obey the Word of God." A committed mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves to celebrate her life and legacy, five children; three sons, Bobby Champion, Bill Champion and Carlton Champion; two daughters, Carolyn Champion Beckford and Patricia Champion Etheridge, 24 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 with a Celebration of life immediately following at Greenwood Serenity Chapel, 2300 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix.
