Anna Maria Whittaker passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, February 19, 2011. She was born May 15, 1955 in Asmara, Ethiopia. In the late 70’s, she moved to Saudi Arabia, where she met her husband, Dale, while playing volleyball one evening. Together, they have 2 kids, Jessica and Joshua. In 1997, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Annamaria was very involved with Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church and several other Catholic Churches in Phoenix. Everyone seemed to know her and recognize her smile. She will be deeply missed by her family and many, many friends who knew her as a caring, happy, giving and loving woman. Visitation will be Thursday, February 24, 2011 beginning at 5:00pm at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ with a Rosary beginning at 6:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 25. 2011 at 10:00am at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3801 E Greenway Road, Phoenix. Burial will follow at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, 23015 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ.
