It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amanda Grace Rizo, a beloved wife, mother, friend, and cherished member of our community. She left us on September 21, 2023 leaving behind a legacy of love and unforgettable memories.
Born on May 1, 1963, Amanda was a remarkable woman whose life touched the hearts of many. Amanda was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Ortiz and her father, Gilbert Ortiz. She is survived by her husband, Edward Rizo and her daughter, Alexis Rizo, and her sisters, Ingrid Ortiz, April Ortiz, and Bernadette Semchuck.
Amanda had an incredible zest for life and an adventurous spirit. She had a deep love of her pet dogs; Stella, a French Bulldog, and Niko, a Pomeranian. She was known for her unwavering support, selflessness, and her ability to put others before herself.
She will be remembered for her passion for activism, her love for mexican food, and her insatiable curiosity about the paranormal. Amanda was known for her spirited personality and her infectious laughter, which could light up any room.
In addition to her family, Amanda leaves behind a vast network of friends who were touched by her kindness, wit, and wisdom. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life and made everyone feel welcome in her presence.
A memorial service to celebrate Amanda's life will be held on Saturday, October 21st at Shadow Mountain Mortuary at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Arizona Humane Society or in her memory.
