SGT. Robert Francis Hoffman, Jr., US Army, age 58, passed away at home peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2020 in Salem, AL. He was born on January 12, 1962 in Hampton, VA to the late Robert F. and Audrey J. (Cooper) Hoffman.
He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1979 to 1992. During his Army enlistment he served in the Persian Gulf-Operation Desert Storm from 1990 to 1991. After many years of driving truck over the road he settled in Salem, AL and resumed his truck driving occupation working for Aptim/TIYA for the last 10+ years.
He lived life to the fullest and had a heart of gold. He was always there to help others if needed and expected nothing in return. There was hardly ever a moment that he wasn't picking on someone or irritating them, that was his way of having fun. Either way he will be missed by all of those that loved and supported him during his illness.
He is survived by his Fiance', Michelle R. Cutshall; Sisters, Dawn M. Salvalzo of Buffalo, NY and Bobby F. Woodruff of Niagra Falls, NY. Predeceased by, Brother William G. Hoffman and Sister; Cynthia L. Church.
He was also loved and supported dearly by his cousin, Ralph and wife Tammy Joy of Princeton, NC; His Fiance's family of Huntington, IN, Parents; Charles and Donna Berry, Brothers; Richard and wife Tammy Berry and Nathan Berry and girlfriend Erin Moffett, Nieces; Rebecca Berry, Paige Berry and Megan Berry and nephew; Wade Berry and girlfriend Sarah Perkins of Bloomington, IN.
Private Memorial Service to be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery on Friday June 10, 2020 at 10:00 A.M.
