Larry Von Blocker Sr.

Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, 3770 US-431, Phenix City, Alabama 36868. A Private Graveside Service with Navy Honors will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, Alabama 36856.

Mr. Blocker was born on August 29, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia. He was the son of the late Doston and Sara Marlowe Blocker. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy, where he fought in the Vietnam war. Upon returning home, he worked for many years as a salesman. Mr. Blocker was a die-hard Alabama Football fan, a great storyteller, and someone who never met a stranger or forgot a face.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Scott Blocker and brothers, Ray and Thomas Blocker.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Barbara Brooks Blocker; sons, Von Blocker and Brian Blocker and wife, Karen; daughter-in-law, Katrina Blocker; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Sierra, Ryan, Wendy, Jade, Cameron, Lorelei, and Avery; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
