John William Franz Sr.

A gathering for family and friends with military honors for Mr. Franz will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867.

Mr. Franz was born May 17, 1939 in North Adams, Massachusetts; son of the late George J. Franz, Sr. and Margaret Crawford Franz. He was retired after 30 years of service as a Master Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy, later was employed for many years in security for Williams College in Williamstown, MA and was a proud member of the American Legion in Inverness, FL.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George J. Franz, Jr. and survived by one brother, Carl M. Franz.

Other survivors include his wife of 64 years, Patricia A. Franz, children, Laurie Ann Franz, Brenda Gail Franz, Paula Jean Franz and son, John William Franz, Jr and wife, Amy; two grandchildren, Marcus Evan Franz and wife Ally, Kayla Renee Rose and husband, Austin and great grandchildren, Jayce, Lil and Silvia.
