James Sanders

James R. Sanders, 75 of Fortson, Georgia died Tuesday October 3, 2017 in Montezuma, GA. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. EST Friday October 6, 2017 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City with Rev. Gene Boyd officiating. A private burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Sanders was born September 5, 1942 in Columbus, Georgia; son of the late Jimmie L. and Mittie Porter Sanders.He was retired from Travelers Insurance Company, was a member of Cascade Hills Church and was an avid golfer. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Sanders.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sarah Adams Sanders of Fortson, GA, daughters, Sharman Long (Barney), Angela Sanders Johnson both of Savannah, GA, son, Brian Sanders (Valerie) of Winter Garden, FL, brother, Ronnie Sanders of Daytona, FL, grandchildren; Ashley Livingston, Joshua Long, Mia Sanders, Dylan Sanders, Blake Sanders, great grand children, Garrett, Matthew, Jada and Hazel.
