Stan retired after a career as an Insurance Adjuster, an Auto Body Shop manager, a Service Department Manager for Toyota, and a Real Estate Agent.
Stan was recognized nationally as the Soap Box Derby expert from this area. He coached dozens of boys and girls, many of whom won their local championship. His family is one of only three in the world to have three generations of derby champs.
Preceded in death by his parents James and Bobbie Howard, and his wife Margaret Howard.
He is survived by one son, Stan Howard Jr. (Cindy), and two daughters Lynn Howard, and Jan Herring (Russell).
Grandchildren Johnathan, Spencer (Katy), Jamie, Timothy, and Micah.
Great-grandsons Ezra and Finn.
A a visitation for family and friends for James will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867, followed by a celebration of life funeral service at 1:00 PM.
