Evelyn was born on April 23, 1945 to the late Jesse Morgan Williams and Claudia Johnston Williams. She was a graduate of Smiths Station High School and Troy University. Evelyn loved children and taught at River Road Elementary School in Columbus, Ga for 35 years. As a devoted Christian, Evelyn served her local Church faithfully and on the conference level for many years including serving as conference president of United Methodist Women.
Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by a beloved niece, Amy Maria Pace, and brother-in-law Bob Pace.
Her survivors include a sister, Kathryn Williams Pace of Blakely, Ga., brothers Walter (and Shirley) of Columbus, Ga. And Herbert (and Sue) of Phenix City, Al., several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 10, 2021, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, visitation will be one prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
In accordance with CDC guidelines we ask those attending the service wear mask and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.
