Carl Barrett, SR.

A celebration of life memorial service for Carl will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 5:00 PM EDT at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. A visitation for family and friends will follow Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM EDT, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. An interment with military honors will occur at Hiler Cemetery, Jeffersonville, Kentucky.

Mr. Barrett was born December 20, 1952; son of the late Grover Barrett and Marie Calhoun Barrett. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Civil Service. Mr. Barrett was baptist by faith, was an avid University of Kentucky fan, loved bluegrass and gospel music, loved watching western movies and cooking shows.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorcas Smith, Wanda Casky, Hazel Hunley and Doris Barrett along with brothers, Delmar Barrett, Johnny Green Barrett, Berry Barrett and Jonathan Barrett.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Nancy Barrett, children, Carl Barrett, Jr., Christopher Thomas Barrett, grandchildren, Carlos Barrett, Jackson Barrett, Addison Barrett, brother, Wendell Barrett, sister, Carolyn Raleigh, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
