Maria G. Sanchez

Maria G. Sanchez, born in Mercedes, TX, passed away after losing her battle with cancer on July 11, 2022. She was in the hospital surrounded by her children Samantha Joe Sanchez, and Amanda Torres, and all her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Maria Sanchez was born on February 28th, 1958, to her parents Maria Aurelia Leyva and Alberto Zepeda Sanchez.

Maria, often referred to as “Mary,” poured her heart and soul into everything she did. No challenge was too great for her. From cooking in the kitchen, her skilled sewing, all her beautiful talent utilized in her crafts, and the greatest of all the rearing of her two daughters Amanda Torres and Samantha Joe Sanchez.

Mary was an entrepreneur, running a successful small business, Mary’s Wild Creations, in McAllen, TX. She was very much liked by all her customers and fellow small business owners alike.

Mary touched everybody’s lives and made it a point to make all those she encountered feel special. She was the life of the party, often having everyone at the table falling off the chair laughing in hysterics. To say she will be missed, is an understatement. Mary was loved and cherished by all family and friends.

Mary is survived by her two daughters: Amanda Torres (Ruben Pena), Samantha Joe Sanchez.

Her Grandchildren: Ava Rose Pena, Asher Reign Pena

Her brother and sisters: Alberto Inez Sanchez, Isadora Garza, Francisca Sanchez, Maria Catarina Lopez (Alejandro Garcia Lopez), Jose De Jesus Sanchez, Maria Martina Sanchez, Juan Homero Sanchez, Maria Trinidad Sanchez, Maria San Juanita Sanchez, Yolanda Yvette Sanchez and nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 3 pm to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. Catholic funeral service will be at 10 am on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.

Urmentation will take place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
