Horacio is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Librada; five children, Rosa Maria Salinas Martinez, Horacio Salinas Jr., Marta Salinas Martinez, Maria Blanca Salinas and Inez Salinas Martinez, eleven grandchildren, Esteban, Angie, Orlando, Fabian, Simon, Elizabeth, Irvin, Anthony, Betcy, Deicy and Jonathan, as well as nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Tomasa.
Horacio met the love of his life, Maria Librada in Arizona in 1957 and had been happily married for 63 years. They began their family together having many blessing such as their children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Horacio worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. He loved to spend time with his family and play bingo. Horacio was friendly and will be remembered for the jokester he was.
Simply stated, Horacio was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Horacio leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Horacio Salinas Sr.
Visitation for Horacio will be Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Chapel of Remembrance. A funeral mass will occur Friday, July 10, 2020 at 8:30am at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr with interment to follow at 10:00 am at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
