Ruby Lopez Ream, age 63, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020. She was born January 21, 1957 in Corpus Christi, TX to Lorenzo and Beatrice (Reyes) Lopez. She moved to Austin, TX in 1959 and graduated from the original Stephen F. Austin High School in 1975.
Ruby worked as a social worker for Health and Human Services where she retired in 2013. She went back to work in 2014 for five more years with the Texas Workforce Commission where she retired again in 2019.
She enjoyed bingo, traveling and watching her grandkids play sports.
She was a member of Cristo Rey's Joy Group, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Extraordinary Ministry handing out Holy Communion.
Don and Ruby were married on November 6th of 1999, they recently celebrated their 20th anniversary in Las Vegas, NV.
Ruby was preceded in death by her son Gabriel; daughter Nina; mother Beatrice; fathers Lorenzo and Jesse; brother Jesse; and sisters Guadalupe, Janie and Gloria.
Those left to cherish her memory include husband Donald J. Ream; son Felix Lopez (wife Crystal); grandchildren Christian and Jacob Lopez; brother George Lopez (wife Gracie); several nieces and nephews, along with several great nieces and nephews; life-long sister-friend Carmen Bustamante and last but not least Don and Ruby's beagle Joe.
