Rosalyn Lanier

Rosalyn graduated from East Texas Baptist College where she met the love of her life, John Lanier. Rosalyn was a dedicated teacher and taught in several Texas towns before moving to Austin where she served as a Title I reading teacher until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Gamma Delta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority for Women Educators and Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church.

Rosalyn was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Clyde and Eunice Barr, and her brother, Wallace Barr. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Lanier; daughter Sharon Erickson and husband Wally; son Rev. Greg Lanier and wife Dawn; grandchildren: Amy Klaus and husband Justin; Adam Erickson and wife Kassie; Blake, Mason and Sarah Bohls; great grandchildren: Kyler and Raven Klaus and Baby Boy Erickson due in April.

The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Pflugerville Care Center for the love and support she received the past 3 ½ years.

Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home (14501 N. IH-35, Pflugerville) on Monday, March 2nd, from 6:00- 8:00 P.M. A Celebration of Life will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church (6909 W. Courtyard Dr., Austin, TX 78730) on Tuesday, March 3rd, at 10:30 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church or Gamma Delta Chapter Scholarship Fund, 312 Cara Cara, Buda, TX 78610.
