Robert “Jeff” Dorsett of Round Rock, TX passed away at 59 years old on April 17, 2021 after a three-year battle with Interstitial Lung Disease. Jeff was born on May 11, 1961 to Robert and Lita Dorsett. He was born and raised in Austin, graduated from Reagan High School in 1980 and was a lifelong member of Koenig Lane Christian Church.
Jeff worked for Austin Energy for 35 years, to his co-workers he known as “The Gov’ner”. He had coworkers who became good buddies; Sammy, Danny, Johnny, Richard, Todd, Darren, and Cedric. He was very safety conscious as these guys can tell you and was proud of that. He would get to work early in the morning to “monitor” everyone’s arrival. He lived by the statement, “If you aren’t 15 minutes early then you’re late!” as well as “Plan your departure upon your arrival”.
He was a proud Texan who loved his family, all 600 of them. He loved his wife even though she was a “damn Yankee from up there”. He loved his grandchildren; Aubrey Doodles, Ainsley Mae, Venster and Penny Kay. He was known to his neighbors as “JD” and “Mighty Fine”. Jeff loved Gunsmoke starring James Arness as Matt Dillon. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching the Longhorns play football. The highlight of his year was always the Baker Family Reunion in Burnet, Texas over the July 4th Weekend.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father Robert Dorsett. Survived by his wife of 30-years, Jacquelyn Dorsett, his mother Lita Dorsett, siblings Kimberly Carlson (David) and Mark Dorsett (Kimberly) and 4 children; Vence Salvato (Jeni) of Katy, Bryan Salvato of Round Rock, Stephanie Hanna (Sean) of Kyle, Robert Dorsett of Round Rock and 4 grandchildren; Aubrey, Ainsley and Vence Salvato of Katy and Penelope Hanna of Kyle.
