Rachel Mae Parsons, our beloved mother and grandmother, entered rest on August 29, 2015 at the age of 89. She was born to John Henry and Cora Bell Brazel in Colquitt County, Georgia on September 30 1925.
During WW2, Rachel like many women was proud to have played the role of Rosie the Riviter building the Liberty ships that provided our boys and Allies with needed supplies and war materials. She then moved from Georgia to Texas, to marry John C. Cowsert and had their two daughters.
She also enjoyed many years of traveling and camping with her late husband, Jerry (Pinky) Parsons.
For the past 14 years Rachel lived at the Western Trails Apartments, where she loved spending time, having fun and laughing with her children, grandchildren and their friends. She knew how to have fun, and parties without her will never be the same. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters William (Bill) Brazel, Talmadge Brazel, Paul Brazel, Reese Brazel, Syvil Anderson, Henri Bell Smith and Vivian Cantrell; husbands, John Cowsert and Jerry Parsons.
