Peking (Cuong) Su was laid to rest at the age of 67 on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at 4:56 PM while residing in California. Peking was born in Tam Ky, Vietnam to his mother, Ngoc Ai Phan and his late father Binh Su. He lived there until the age of 22, prior to immigrating to the United States. Peking was the first of his immediate family to establish himself in America, and over the course of more than 20 years, he worked tirelessly to sponsor his parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews, providing them opportunities for a new life to create their own legacies. Peking met his devoted wife of who he married in 1983. Together, they raised three children in Southern California before moving to Austin, Texas, where he worked as the business owner of a salon.
Peking Su is remembered as a filial son who sacrificed a significant amount of his time, energy and livelihood for the sake of his family. He is honored and respected by family members that cared deeply for him. Peking is survived by his wife, Hue Nguy; his three children and their spouse: Lung Chinh Su and Tu Tho Phan, Chan Li Su and Richard Allen Hawkins, Yung Chinh Su and Michael Huynh; and his three grandchildren: Bastian Xing Su Hawkins, Zoe Mei Su Hawkins, and Felix Ing Su Hawkins.
A visitation and funeral service for Peking will be held Friday, January 12, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. Following the visitation and funeral service will be a committal service at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
